Texture and Color: Experimental Cone 10 Soda Firing
April 4, 2018 – April 8, 2018
The focus of this workshop is to encourage students to reconsider what colors and textures are available within the soda kiln. Participants should bring bisqued pieces to be fired in the cross-draft soda kiln. During this workshop, you will learn about carefully loading a soda kiln, glaze and slip application, and proper soda firing schedules. Students will leave class with a better understanding of utilizing a sodium atmosphere to create subtle and intense surfaces on their work. Some wheel throwing experience is helpful. In order to complete the firing, this workshop will begin Wednesday April 4, ONE DAY BEFORE OTHER CLASSES THIS SESSION. Open to all skill levels.
COURSE FEE: $375
