Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts understands and values the immeasurable impact that arts and craft education has on children, and offers extensive youth programming to local and regional students, as well as extending to underserved communities throughout Central Appalachia.
Two notable Arrowmont outreach programs, ArtReach and ArtReach on the Road, connect youth to historic craft practices and their cultural heritage, through one-day immersive craft workshops.
Every spring, children’s community classes are offered at Arrowmont on Saturday mornings for five weeks. These community classes serve a variety of ages and skill-levels.
Held every December preceding the holidays, Arrowmont’s one-day holiday workshops are an opportunity for families to learn craft techniques through holiday-based projects, and enjoy lunch together in Arrowmont’s dining hall. Many families and children make it an annual tradition.
