Artist Bio
Beth Ireland lives and works in Saint Petersburg, Florida where her studio provides woodworking with a specialization in architectural and artistic woodturning. She earned her undergraduate degree from the State University College at Buffalo and an MFA in sculpture from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Ireland has been involved in a traveling art and craft project titled “Turning Around America” since 2010. She also teaches the Professional Woodturning Intensive at The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship.

Workshop Description
In this workshop students will explore a variety of woodturning techniques including offset turning, architectural carving, segmenting, face plate, end grain and spindle turning, while demystifying what creativity really is. You will learn strategies of idea development and paths to inspiration while multiplying your skill set in achieving your ideas. This will be a supportive class with a focus on safety. Students must have some knowledge of woodturning.
