Artist Bio

Keunho Peter Park is a multi-cultural artist, woodworker, furniture designer and maker, and instrument maker who teaches woodworking in Philadelphia. He holds a BFA in painting from South Korea’s Kookmin University, and an MFA in Woodworking and Furniture Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2013. Among other honors, Peter won a 2015 Wharton Esherick award at the Philadelphia Museum of Art craft show and won a First-time in show award at the Smithsonian Craft Show 2022.

Workshop Description

This workshop will show students a fun way of putting many flat smaller pieces of wood together to create a large organic free form. Using this technique, each student will build a large dinner-table sized centerpiece bowl, and wall pieces starting from a flat board of lumber instead of a chunk of log.
