Artist Bio
Ann Tilley is a textile artist, clothing designer, and teacher who lives in Liberty, North Carolina. She maintains a studio art practice, working in color knitting. Tilley earned her BFA in Fashion and Fibers at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. She has also worked in a variety of small-scale garment studios and factories, including two eponymous clothing lines. Her teaching aesthetic blends disciplined production techniques with home-sewing freedom and playfulness.

Workshop Description
The purpose of this workshop is to explore the fundamentals of clothing design and construction while focusing on making pants. Students will begin with the simplest construction and work their way to the more complex. Then you will learn how to choose fabric, hone fit, and explore style. Sewing techniques covered include legs, waistbands, closures, pockets, and more. Expect to leave class with at least three completed pants or muslins, and with accompanying personalized paper patterns to add to your home sewing library. Open to all skill levels, however previous experience using a sewing machine is required.
