Students will work with black underglaze and a variety of techniques including pointillism, sgraffito, and underglaze as watercolor, as well as view a mold-making demo at the end of session. Students will learn two ways to place a graphite outline on a bisqued surface, how to paint fur/feathers with underglazes using a “watercolor” technique, and also learn tips and tricks to an underglaze pointilism technique. This workshop will be exciting for artists new to clay as well as experienced ceramic artists wishing to add image rendering to their tool set. All skill levels welcome.
