Artist Bio

Barbara Dill started her woodturning careen at Arrowmont in 1990 after a career in nursing. She refined her skills by attending symposiums, classes, and meetings through the years. Her fascination with multi axis turning began in the 90’s. Her discoveries lead to a systematic way to understand multi axis spindle turning. Her first articles were published in the American Woodturner in 2007. She has been teaching this conceptual model of multi axis spindle turning since 2006 in the US and Canada. Her book, Multi Axis Spindle Turning, was published in 2018. When in her studio, she continues to chase forms and experiment with various local woods.
