During this workshop, using mainly wood components, students will construct a basic box including cam and crankshaft mechanism. This wooden structure is the creative springboard to designing and constructing your own individual automata. During class you will work with a variety of materials including metal, wood, plastic, wire, and paper. Creative ideas will be sparked by exploring movements and harnessing intrinsic characteristics. Participants are welcome to bring their own hand tools and any materials, objects or curios that could be used in the artwork. Open to all skill levels.
COURSE FEE: $1,330
