Workshop Description

In this workshop students will explore different methods for translating ideas into cast glass objects through kiln casting. Lectures and demonstrations will cover strategies for mold making, mold recipes, kiln set-up, annealing schedules, and finishing work in the cold shop. You will leave the class with many ideas and information, finished cast objects, and a thorough understanding of the positive and negative relationship between the model and the mold. Participants should plan to bring several sketches and found objects for inspiration and idea development. Be prepared to have fun and work hard. This workshop is geared for beginners but will accommodate all skill levels.
