Workshop Description
During this workshop students will use fabrication techniques to create a variety of jewelry forms using argentium silver, which is a silver alloy containing interesting and magical properties of germanium. You will discover that argentium is tarnish resistant, more adaptable, fuses beautifully, and does not firescale when used properly. Participants will learn more about these exciting properties and put them to use. Class demonstrations will include annealing, granulation, soldering, and fusing. You will add function to your argentium pieces with effective, handmade clasps and earring hooks that will ultimately turn your creations into a small, cohesive collection of jewelry. Finishing techniques will also be explored. Open to all skill levels.
