Workshop Description
In this workshop students will explore sifting, stenciling, and sgraffito in combination with painting and drawing techniques and their many materials. You will discover how surface marks and details can be enhanced by adding ceramic metallic lusters or gold and silver foils to create a shimmering surface. Participants will create each layer of transparent or opaque glass enamel to be kiln fired on copper or silver and then be transformed. Students will leave with a collection of working samples and pieces to later inform their work or to be set as stunning enameled jewelry or wall pieces. Capture your inspirations in enamel with waterslide decals, underglaze pigments and graphite pencils, watercolor or acrylic enamels, and beautiful overglaze China paints. Open to all skill levels.
