October 25, 2019 – October 31, 2019
During this workshop students will load and fire the train kiln and learn how to prepare their work with glazes, slips and wadding. When the work is prepped, participants will load and fire the kiln. Demonstrations include making a variety of work for a wood firing with an emphasis on fluid forms. Class discussions cover various kiln designs, firing techniques and cooling cycles while firing the kiln. After the firing, you will have an opportunity to make work alongside the instructor as the kiln cools. No prior wood firing experience is required for the workshop. Open to all skill levels.
