Improvisational Embroidery

October 18, 2020 – October 24, 2020

Kathryn Clark

The goal of this workshop is for students to delve into an improvisational approach to embroidery by breaking rules, embellishing, designing and experimenting. This is a class where you can enjoy the process of stitching and the creative process. Participants will study the work of contemporary embroidery artists around the world, discuss design inspiration and creativity, learn helpful working techniques, and experiment with stitching, embellishment and presentation techniques. You will become more relaxed and innovative with embroidery and will create unique pieces of art works, embroidery samplers, wearable art, or an embroidered sculpture. Open to all skill levels.

Kathryn Clark is a textile artist who lives in Sonoma and San Francisco, California. Her art reflects global societal issues.
