October 11, 2020 – October 17, 2020
Utilizing the screen as a matrix, this workshop will combine the expressive nature of drawing and painting with the crisp stencil forms of screenprint. Students will learn traditional and experimental techniques in screenprinting working with a variety of water-soluble materials. Multi-layer printing, registration, off-the-cuff techniques and drawing/blending colors directly on the screen will be demonstrated. Throughout the week, participants will create a small multilayer edition as well as unique prints on a variety of paper. Cutting Rubylith and shooting photo emulsion stencils will also be at the core of this course. Open to all skill levels.
