Building Your Own Fox Decked Canoe
June 28, 2020 – July 11, 2020
In this workshop students will construct their own fox canoe using stitch-and-glue with planks glued to length so the boat can be fully assembled during class with the paint and varnish to be completed at home. The fox canoe is a decked double paddle canoe that is paddled like a kayak with a more open cockpit. The canoe (a 14′ 7″ long, 30″ beam, and 80″ cockpit weighing just over 40 pounds) is intended for exploring protected waters along the coast, lakes, backwaters and creeks. Each participant will leave class with their own boat and a deeper understanding of boat construction. Please note that the boat kit and materials fee is $1,485 to $1,585. No boat building experience needed. Open to all skill levels.
COURSE FEE: $1155
