The Mixed-Media Memoir
June 7, 2020 – June 13, 2020
Where do words meet image in the stories we tell? How can materials we encounter day-to-day relate to our personal narratives? In this workshop students will discover how to use different media to tell a story. The media can include comics, graphic novels, artist books, dioramas and sequential panels along with the ways you might amalgamate these modes. Participants will explore collage, low-tech printing methods (pochoir, Xerox transfers), box-making and book structures with a focus on incorporating found materials into their mixed-media memoirs. Open to all skill levels.
COURSE FEE: $600
