The Fundamentals of Fused Glass

This workshop explores the fundamentals of the glass fusing process and methods of kilnforming glass. Students will become familiar with the basic chemistry of various glasses and gain an understanding of the firing process as well as developing firing schedules for kilns. You will explore incorporating different forms of glass such as frits, rods, stringers and sheet glass into your artwork. Techniques covered include full fusing, tack fusing, using molds to kilnform, sandblasting, and finishing skills using multiple cold-working tools. Designed for beginners in search of a sound base to build on and seasoned glass artists in need of review, this class is a great way to learn new skills, gain inspiration and express your creativity with glass. Open to all skill levels.
COURSE FEE: $595
Maureen Aderman is a full-time studio artist. She earned her BS in Studio Art from Nazareth College of Rochester, and a BA and MFA in Art Education from the State University College at Buffalo. She has taught classes across the country.
