I Second That Emulsion: Screenprinting With Feeling

In this workshop students learn numerous methods for creating screenprinted imagery utilizing hand-made stencils, photo-emulsion techniques and innovative processes for use in individual and collaborative projects. During class, participants will focus on setting up and operating a low-budget home screenprinting studio – including building an inexpensive exposure unit for use during the workshop. The instructor will provide prints from all mediums from his extensive collection for viewing and discussion. Open to all skill levels.

Ryan O’Malley is an associate professor of Art and the graduate coordinator at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. As an artist, educator and member of the Outlaw Printmakers, his work has been included in numerous national and international exhibitions, publications, portfolios and collections. O’Malley has exhibited internationally including in Russia, Japan, France China, Mexico, Italy, Latvia and Iran. His expertise is included in “Printmaking: A Complete Guide to Materials and Process,” Second Edition, by Fick and Grabowski.
