August 5, 2018 – August 11, 2018
This workshop explores the sculptural forms made available using the lathe as a tool of sculpture and carving, and not just the source of round objects. Students will learn simple tool making, spindle turning and progress to offset turning, graphing and carving techniques. Through exercises, you will develop the skill and understanding necessary to tackle directed projects. The fundamentals of art, as they relate to sculpture, is introduced and each participant is encouraged to develop a personal visual language to create functional or non-functional objects in a safe supportive atmosphere. Open to all skill levels.
COURSE FEE: $595
