Landscape Painting In The 21st Century

The landscape continues to influence the shape and form of artist’s work. This acrylic painting workshop uses studies from observation and photographs to explore new ways to paint the landscape. Students will work with acrylic and collage to create multi-layered paintings that explore how they think of the landscape and their immediate environment. Students interested in landscape, abstraction, color, acrylic paint and collage will be able to chart new territory by working on paintings that are exciting images and compelling objects. Come ready to experiment and try new things. Open to all skill levels.
COURSE FEE: $525
Jered Sprecher lives in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is an artist and professor of Art at the University of Tennessee, where he teaches painting and drawing. Sprecher has had solo exhibitions of his paintings in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dublin and Boston. He has received grants and awards from the Chinati Foundation, John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program and the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
