Colorful Slips

August 5, 2018 – August 11, 2018

Eva Kwong

In this workshop students learn ways to add color and pizzazz while mixing their own colored slips. You will discover mixing slips, making color choices, and exploring application techniques, while learning about sgraffito, slip trail, stencil, layering and blending colors without an airbrush. Demonstrations and studio time provide opportunities for participants to practice all the possibilities. If time permits, glazing in an electric kiln and a salt-glaze kiln will be covered. Open to all skill levels.

COURSE FEE: $525

Eva Kwong has worked with colored slips for four decades, with low-temp and high-temp glazes, in raku, salt, soda and wood kilns. Kwong is known for her colorful and compelling forms that are functional and sculptural. She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and Tyler School of Art and has taught workshops across the country.
