Overlaption: Visual Narrative In The Book Format
July 22, 2018 – July 28, 2018
With an emphasis on creative play, this workshop provides instruction in building a visual narrative, printing in multiple colors, and designing book pages. Students will carve several linoleum block shapes and print them in overlapping layers on the etching press, harnessing chance and discovery. Then, each artist will bind their printed pages into a Leporello accordion book with a hard cover. Course content is enhanced by discussions of how to develop ideas and sequence information. Demonstrations include carving linoleum blocks, registration of multiple colors, mixing ink and book binding techniques. Open to all skill levels.
COURSE FEE: $525
