Pen Making: The Next Level!

In this workshop students learn the art of pen making. Students will work with a variety of materials including exotic wood, stabilized wood, biologicals, acrylics and laser cut pen kits. Demonstrations throughout the week include stabilization and casting. Mastering a CA glue pen finish will be emphasized. Mark Gisi, a master at segmenting, and Dan Symonds, an expert of fountain pens, are assistant instructors. Discussions include marketing tips and tricks, and how to best display and sell your one-of-a-kind masterpieces! Open to all skill levels, however basic skills of pen making is a plus.
COURSE FEE: $595
Barry Gross started creating his fine writing instruments 20 years ago working with exotic woods. In 2012, he was a double NICHE Award finalist and was commissioned by The White House to make pens for foreign dignitaries by former Vice President Dick Cheney. In 2014-2015, Gross was accepted as a member of Who’s Who for Outstanding Achievements in the field of woodturning.
