April 5, 2018 – April 8, 2018
From the headdresses of Mardi Gras, to headpieces of the Victorian era, to Derby hats and beyond, during this workshop students are introduced to old-school millinery techniques as well as new techniques for innovative hat and headdress construction. Participants learn how to make customized DIY head-blocks and use a mix of easily-accessible and traditional materials to make a headpiece for an occasion of their choice. Students are asked to bring any materials they may want to incorporate into their creation – the more imagination the better! Open to all skill levels. Hand sewing skills are a plus.
