Tina Curry・ Clay
Tina Curry is a full-time ceramic and bronze sculptor living in Knoxville, Tennessee and holds a BA from the University of Florida. After 35 years working in graphic design, she retired in 2017 to pursue craft full time. Joining a close friend on a whim, Tina had her first experience working with clay 24 years ago and fell in love with the challenge of transforming her mental images into fully dimensional sculpture. Tina builds each piece by hand so that each sculpture has its own “unique flair.”
Her animal sculptures have been commissioned by the Knoxville Zoo and the Calgary Zoo in Alberta Canada. Curry was the featured artist for a Southern Highlands Craft Guild marketing campaign in 2016 and she was honored with a solo exhibition for the Tennessee Arts Commission in Nashville in 2018. Her clay work is in national and international collections. Tina exhibits nationally and is a member of Southern Highlands Craft Guild, Foothills Craft Guild, the Oak Ridge Art Center, Terra Madre Women in Clay, American Craft Council, and the Art and Culture Alliance of Knoxville. Tina is a member of Arrowmont’s Board of Governors.
