Max Adrian・ Sculpture

Max Adrian earned his BFA in fiber and creative writing from the Kansas City Art Institute and has participated in several fellowships and residencies. A visual artist, Adrian’s work primarily features soft-sculptural work playfully considers queer ideas of sexuality and identity through Craft. He composes his sculptures of diverse materials including faux-fur, faux-leather and spandex. The works explore the line that separates the whimsical and the sinister and draws from Adrian’s influences including theatre, history and storytelling. Adrian’s works tell stories and pose questions about sexuality and community. He is currently an MFA candidate in fibers and material studies at Tyler School of Art.
