Lisa Discepoli Line was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1956. Here she learned to love Tiepolo and Hans Memling at an early age at the Cincinnati Art Museum. She studied Art at Edgecliff College, now part of Xavier University. She continued to work and study at The University of Tennessee, in particular at its affiliate, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts at the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg, TN. She works and teaches out of her home alongside the borders of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee. She is married to Tim Line, General Manager of Mt. LeConte Lodge, a well known mountaintop hiking lodge where they have both lived and worked since 1977. Her work was recently published in Ruminate Magazine, and included in the three-year national travelling exhibit “Work: Curse or Calling.”
