Jun Lee is a printmaker based in Washington, D.C. who works in large format woodcut utilizing animals as metaphors to convey competition in our daily lives. Lee received her MFA in Print Media 2007 from Cranbrook Academy of Art (MI) and her BFA in Illustration 2002, and a Post Baccalaureate in Printmaking 2004 from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. Lee was awarded an Arts and Humanities Fellowship and DC Art Bank grant from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities among several other residencies and fellowships including Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Zygote Press, Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory, Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, Penland School of Crafts, and the Lee Arts Center. Lee’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally including at West Virginia University, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Art Gym Denver, LUX Center for the Arts, American University Museum, Highpoint Center for Printmaking, Maryland Institute College of Art, Montgomery College, Purdue University Galleries, Insa Art Center in Seoul, South Korea, and Daimler Financial Services Atrium in Berlin, Germany.
