Wax on, wax on and wax on again. Layers are what make encaustic painting so rich and fun! In this one-day workshop learn to layer paper between layers of wax and create an interesting piece of art with lots of depth! The instructor will share several encaustic techniques. No experience needed, just bring your imagination.
Instructor ∙ Kelly Sullivan
Kelly Sullivan graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a BFA in studio art with a concentration in printmaking, but considers herself a mixed media artist. She lived in South Florida, Atlanta, Syracuse, New York and currently resides in Knoxville, Tennessee. Regardless of where she lives she finds a community where she can make art, learn new processes and teach what she is most passionate about. Kelly moved to East Tennessee to follow a dream and work at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts where she worked for two and a half years. Kelly is currently director of Knoxville Arts & Fine Crafts Center where she creates community arts programming. She teaches a wide variety of art classes at KAFCC, Arrowmont, CSCET and Mighty Mud.
