Arrowmont is excited to welcome four new Board of Governors members – Suzanne Amendolara, Craig Nutt, Katie Hudnall and Patty Pyle.
Arrowmont’s Board of Governors is composed of volunteers who provide leadership and support to fulfill the mission of the School. They represent varied constituencies and geographic locations and bring diverse skills and resources to the Board.
Suzanne Amendolara, educator and jeweler, lives in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. She received her MFA in Jewelry Design/Metalsmithing from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN and her BFA in Jewelry and Metals from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Suzanne has taught at Edinboro University since 1991 and served as the president of Society of North American Goldsmiths from 2011-2014. Her work is exhibited in permanent collections including the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, PA, the Ohio Craft Museum, Columbus, Ohio, Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C. and the White House Collections of American Crafts, Washington, D.C. Suzanne enjoys traveling, gardening and reading.
Craig Nutt, furniture designer and sculptor, lives in Kingston Springs, Tennessee. He is a founding board member of The Furniture Society – a non-profit organization dedicated to the art of furniture making and education. Craig served as the Director of Programs for CERF+ The Artist’s Safety Net from 2006-2016. He served on the Alabama Craft Council, Kentucky Association of Northport, AL, Magic City Art Connection, Birmingham, AL, American Craft Council, Southeastern Regional Assembly and Artist’s Council-First Center for the Visual Arts, Nashville, TN. Craig currently works full-time in his studio in Nashville, Tennessee.
Katie Hudnall, woodworker and furniture designer, received her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and her BFA from Corcoran College of Art and Design. Her work is featured in publications such as Studio Furniture: The Next Generation, Crafting a Continuum: Rethinking Contemporary Craft and Beyond Boundaries at SOFA Chicago. Katie is a recipient of the Virginia Museum of Fine Art Fellowship, Windgate Wood Residency at the University of Madison, Wisconsin, Anderson Ranch Residency and most recently Peter S. Reed Foundation Fellowship. She lives in Indianapolis, IN and teaches furniture design at Herron School of Art and Design.
Patty Pyle received her B.Ed. from University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She
has 25 years of experience working for Stephens Inc. Investment Company – an independent financial firm located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Patty has served on Friends of Contemporary Craft Board – Arkansas Center, Museum of Discovery Board, Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History Board, Pi Beta Phi Centennial Gate Committee – Universityof Arkansas and Campaign for the Twenty-First Century Committee University of Arkansas Goal of one billion. Patty enjoys traveling, collecting and promoting art and craft, running and reading.
