Galleries at Arrowmont

At Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts you will find artwork every where you look. There are four dedicated exhibition spaces as well as small displays in the halls and studios and artwork on view throughout the grounds. In 2022, The Arrowmont Gallery in Knoxville opened with monthly exhibitions and marketplace gallery in the heart of Knoxville’s arts district downtown.

The galleries and grounds are open to the public all year long and host works from our instructor artists, artists-in-residence, pieces from our permanent collection, national and international artists and craftspeople. Please view our exhibition schedule and join us for one of our opening receptions or stop by during the week for some quiet reflection in the galleries.

The Sandra J. Blain Galleries offer a year-round schedule of changing national and regional exhibitions that complement and support workshops, conferences and programs. Serving as an educational resource, the exhibitions enable students and visitors to learn about various media, techniques and ways artists express ideas through their work. Many works are for sale with proceeds supporting individual artists and the mission of the School.

The Geoffrey A. Wolpert Gallery is a foyer gallery focused on exhibiting solo and small group exhibitions by emerging and established contemporary craft artists. The space provides the Arrowmont resident artists with four months of exhibition time during their residency, in the form of an introductory exhibit and a mid-residency exhibit. This gallery also features a solo exhibition for the annual winner of the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage Artist of the Year competition, which takes place in April in conjunction with the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage at Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The Arrowmont Gallery is Arrowmont’s first permanent off-campus exhibition space. It offers rotating exhibitions that complement workshops, conferences and programs, featuring instructors, staff, Artists-in-Residence, and other members of Arrowmont’s creative community. Serving as an Arrowmont outpost in East Tennessee’s largest city, Knoxville, the Arrowmont Gallery hosts art openings coinciding with Knoxville’s First Friday festivities each month.

The Jerry Drown Wood Studio Gallery displays revolving works selected from the permanent collection, and other small group exhibitions ranging in a variety of mediums and materials – from functional forms to conceptual objects and everything in between. 

The Arrowmont History Gallery is a space where visitors can learn more about the history of the school. This gallery contains original photographs from the archives, permanent collection works and other ephemera dating back to the early 1900s.
