Artist Bio:
My paintings are containers of time with overlapping transparent layers of color forming a whole. Natural organic and manmade architectural, geometric shapes and space vie for dominance. My process sometimes produces unexpected contours like the curve of the macrocosm, which is bent by mass and energy. Inspiration is found in the everyday beauty of manmade and the power of the natural world.
I have worked with encaustic since 1986, receiving a BFA in Painting from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston. She then attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine, where I studied with Agnes Martin as well as completed Post-baccalaureate studies in Fine Arts at VCU in Virginia. I have consistently exhibited on a national scale.
