Work Study Program Since previous art experience is not necessary for work-study positions, this is a great way to learn new skills, gain confidence artistically and make life-long friends working in a fun environment. Work Study may take one week of class for each 45-50 hour week of work duty during the spring, summer and fall (or a weekend of work for a weekend class during fall weekend sessions). The week you are in class, he/she will work 1-1.5 hours during each meal and 8 hours on the weekend. Tuition for your week (or weeks) of class as well as room and board for the length of your commitment is provided by Arrowmont. Arrowmont considers individuals who are mature, team oriented, self-motivated and interested in the arts. Enthusiasm and commitment are required. Please note that work-study positions are physically demanding and require that applicants be able to lift 50 pounds. Classes are awarded based on availability. Class lab fees and other art supplies are the responsibility of the student. If it is past the application deadline, please contact Arrowmont to see if positions are still available. Applicants are encouraged to apply for more than two weeks. Students must arrive the Friday prior to their session and stay through the Sunday after their last session. Educational assistance is provided to the student-employee as part of the Work Study program. As an employee of Arrowmont and for the convenience of Arrowmont, meals and lodging are provided on Arrowmont premises and must be accepted by the student-employee as a condition of their employment.
