Ted Lott
My work originates from interest in and love of working in three-dimensional space. The function of each of these objects, real or imagined, invites the viewer to enter and interact with that space. The design of each piece is an individual act not adhering to any rigid methods of work, sometimes evolving from intricate shop drawings, other times coming from only a rough sketch inspired by an object or event. The thread that winds between these disparate works is not a philosophy or ideology, but the hand of the maker, the way that every person leaves their personality behind on the objects they produce.

Ted Lott is a native of the Midwest, originally from Wisconsin. He received his BFA in Woodworking and Furniture Design from the Maine College of Art in 2006.
