Classes at Arrowmont
Arrowmont courses are one and two weeks (or a weekend) in length and require students to be in attendance Sunday through Friday. Most courses are for "all levels," meaning the class is suited for students at beginning, intermediate or advanced ability levels. In a few instances a class declares a particular level, and it is necessary for students to register for the class that meets their specific level. In response to student suggestions, formal instruction will begin Sunday evening from 7:30-9:30 pm. Class times Monday through Friday are 9:00-11:30 am and 1:00-4:30 pm. The studios, resource center and gallery remain open until midnight during both one-week and two-week classes and over the weekend on two-week classes. Internet access is available in our resource center during those same times.
Arrowmont Art Supply Store is stocked with many supplies you may need for your class as well as reading materials often recommended by faculty for purchase. Hours are: Monday-Saturday from 8:30 to 4:15 and 1:00-5:00 pm on Sunday. Personal care items are not sold in the store.
Two-week classes are available in the summer sessions only and are a more intensive version of our popular one-week workshops. The longer time period makes it possible for the faculty to structure their class for a more in-depth experience, and enables students time to grasp the concept and implement ideas. As with most of Arrowmont's classes, these sessions are open to beginners as well as those with more advanced levels of ability. A two-week class really provides an inspiring educational get-away.
