Damon McIntyre

I am interested in our relationship with furniture or should I say furniture’s relationship with us. How we use the objects that surround us in our daily lives and how that impacts our imagination is central in my work. A mysterious doorway or portal draws you near. You want to know what is inside, your imagination spins wildly out of control, you are gripped with fear, or possibly overcome with joy as you continue to investigate and discover the truth for yourself. It is all in our imaginations. The anticipation of what is to come is always more powerful and emotional than the actual event. I make my work with this thought in mind, always curious and anxious to discover what lies around the next corner, and nervously excited to find out who or what might be there to greet me.
